Holiday eBook Giveaway ! - January 15, 2012
After selling 83 copies of my first ever eBook "How to be #1 on GigMasters.com" released on 9/10/11 I decided to do a promotional giveaway from Christmas Eve through New Years' Day - and extended it through today, ending January 15. I had
the rare privilege of personally getting to know at least a dozen talented
GigMasters entertainers over the phone and had contact with at least 35 others.
This was totally unplanned, done in the spirit of giving and also absolutely meant
for me to get my name further around the country as the man who wrote the book on
"How to be #1 on GigMasters.com".
It has been and continues to be a great experience, as I learn so much from
every interaction with a handful of the thousands of entertainers who read my
ePublication, if even 'only' on a human relational level. After giving the eBook
to everyone I gave them my info; Facebook, GigMasters page, Twitter and so on
as an invitation to exchange 'likes' on FB and "follows" on Twitter as well as
Google+1'ing eachother's numerous social-networking profile pages.

Then I spontaneously wrote an email to everyone who got my book free of charge
and invited them to cross-promote one another with me, just as a spontaneous idea.
Wow, did that work some wonders. We all "like-bombed" eachother's pages (some participating more than others) and three opted-out seeming very apprehensive
as to 'what in the world could I be looking for from them". Bear in mind my little
eBook reveals the trade secrets & 3 actual current client contact emails I use (pre-booking negotiation, follow up, post-performance) and have amassed the record
number of 5 star feedback over 8 years on GigMasters, hence leading the over 10,000
members since 2008 in ratings, etc.
The people who were open to help and be helped won some free advice and gave their
insight to me helping me out along the way a great deal, as well. The ones who
never expressed gratitude or who were additionally lightly insulted from receiving
an email from me lost, they seemed to be worse off after the fact, to me this is
sad, but without wanting to waste any time, they were simply removed from any
contact lists and wished well.
Lest I forget to mention, the reaction to the inception of this eBook from people
closest to me was polar and as different from person to person as you could imagine.
The most frequent reaction was "hey that's great, good luck! what's it about?"
What I find intriguing is that many looked like they either felt lightly threatened
or almost schadenfreudig (from German: like, that will never work and I look forward
to it). Well, to them, rock on folks I wish everyone well, especially me !
The winning attitude "How to be #1 on GigMasters.com" talks about in depth is,
in my opinion, what it takes to be #1: CARE and RESPECT. We go above and beyond
every time and we all win. The service provider (here the entertainer) wins, the
client wins, the booking company, in this case GM wins. Gratitude expressed is
like an atomic bomb in that it rapidly expands in all directions, but this bomb
blesses everyone with expansion and furthering progress within its explosion's
reach. Filling one's mind with gratitude, respect and a caring, careful,
hard-working touch will win the race every time. That's my story and I'm sticking
to it. Do what you love - life's too short not to !
